Machine Vision Express™ enables computers to "see" like a human.

Machine Vision - PRODUCTS

Services: Products:
  • Studio - A Machine Vision Library plus GUI, Python and C++ development platforms.
  • RTM - A Run Time Module to execute Machine Vision code on a Windows™ system.
  • Cameras - Machine Vision Cameras with PC-Inside™, water and dust resistant.
  • Accessories - Cables, mounting brackets and dust covers etc.

System Integration - Complete solutions, hardware and software.

Axtel provides complete Machine Vision Systems; these turn key solutions may include custom software, computer hardware and camera(s). Each system is especially tailored to suit the special needs of a customer. After system installation we provide training, technical support and ongoing maintenance. Please contact us and let us know what you are interested in.

Programming - Development of custom Machine Vision Programs.

Our programmers have many years of experience and create top quality software. Customers explain their problem to us, they also provide approved test images or objects, based on that information we create an estimate for the entire project. Extensive use of special Simulators and Debuggers allows for testing and fine tuning, thereby reducing cost and time to deployment. Please contact us and let us know what you are interested in.

Studio - A Machine Vision Library plus GUI, Python, C# and C++ development platforms.

MVE Studio allows for the rapid development, simulation and deployment of hardware independent Machine Vision solutions which may address such tasks as: inspection, counting, gauging, positioning, identification, selection, surveillance and access control.

Graphical User Interface (GUI) based custom solutions are now possible where time and budgetary constraints used to mandate “canned” solutions with all their limited flexibility. The built-in simulator is a great tool to ensure a solution is “really ready” for deployment. In addition, MVE Studio offers Python scripting as well as C# and C++ programming for more complex jobs. At the core of MVE Studio is a Machine Vision Library, which includes such advanced features as Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Pattern Matching and Barcode Recognition. Software drivers interface to numerous third party cameras for image capture and various I/O boards to steer assembly lines, robots, gates and other equipment. Solutions developed with Machine Vision Express™ may be used on regular Windows™ systems and Axtel cameras with PC-Inside™. A Linux compatible version is planned for Q2.

GUI

  • Employs the familiar Drag and Drop technique, programming skills are not required.
  • A low level knowledge of the Axtel Computer Vision Library is advantageous.
  • Code output is in the form of a Python script, scripts execute as fast as compiled code.
  • A Compiler and Linker are not required.
  • Includes Editor, Debugger and Simulator.
  • GUI Tutorials

Python

  • A Development Studio for the Python scripting language in a Machine Vision environment.
  • A rudimentary knowledge of Python and the Axtel Computer Vision Library is advantageous.
  • Includes Editor and Debug functionalities.
  • Code output is in the form of a Python script which executes as fast as compiled code.
  • A Compiler and linker are not required.
  • Python Tutorials

C++

  • The user writes C++ code to directly access the Machine Vision Library.
  • A sound knowledge of C++ and the Axtel Computer Vision Library is advantageous.
  • Code Edit, Debug, Compile are done with Visual Studio or Borland etc.

RTM

A Run Time Module (RTM) license is required for each computer that runs code which accesses the Axtel Machine Vision Library. The RTM controls all the elements that make up a complete Machine Vision System:

Digital Inputs
- May be used to trigger image exposure and analysis etc.
Digital Outputs
- Steer the line into Pass and Fail directions etc.
Binning
- Steers line items into pre-assigned bins.
Camera Setup
- Handles basic camera setup functions.
Script Selection
- Selects a different script during line changes etc.
Illuminator
- Turns the illuminator on and off.

Cameras (scheduled for release in Q1/2009)

Axtel cameras feature a PC-Inside™ and utilize the Windows™ XPE operating system. Each camera resembles a complete Machine Vision System as it includes Digital Inputs, Digital Outputs, an Illuminator, a LAN interface, and a hard disk (solid state), all packaged in a water and dust resistant enclosure.

  • 640x480 Mono Camera - Windows™ XPE, LAN, Hard Disk (Solid State), Digital I/Os and Illuminator.
  • 640x480 Color Camera - Windows™ XPE, LAN, Hard Disk (Solid State), Digital I/Os and Illuminator.
  • 1280x1024 Mono Camera - Windows™ XPE, LAN, Hard Disk (Solid State), Digital I/Os and Illuminator.

Accessories (to be released)

Mounting bracket
- For angular mounting of the camera
I/O cable
- Connects camera to 24Volt power and Input/Output signals
LAN cable (to hub)
- For Local Area Network connection with a hub
LAN cable (to PC)
- For Local Area Network connection with a PC
Dust cover
- Protects camera lens and illuminator from dust and moisture
